Description | Study of basic concepts and operations involved in computations, ratios, proportions, percents, charts and graphs, simple geometry, rational numbers, exponents and scientific notation. | ||||||||||

Learning Outcomes |
The student is expected to locate, compare, and order integers and rational numbers using a number line. The student is expected to generate equivalent numerical expressions using order of operations. The student is expected to identify a number, its opposite, and its absolute value. The student is expected to add, subtract, multiply and divide positive rational numbers fluently The student is expected to classify whole numbers, integers, and rational numbers using a visual representation such as a Venn diagram to describe relationships between sets of numbers. The student is expected to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers fluently. The student is expected to represent a given situation using verbal descriptions, tables, graphs, and equations in the form y = kx or y = x + b. The student is expected to write an equation that represents the relationship between independent and dependent quantities from a table. The student is expected to determine if two expressions are equivalent. The student is expected to write one-variable, one-step equations, 2-step equations and inequalities to represent constraints or conditions within problems. |
